About the artist:
I am a self-taught amateur photographer working out of Providence, RI. After graduating with a B.A. in Classics from Roger Williams University [Bristol, RI] in 2008, I received a Fulbright grant and spent the next year studying and conducting research in Leipzig, Germany; incidentally, I found myself with more time on my hands than ever before to indulge my interests outside of academics. Now a Ph.D. candidate in the Classics at Brown University [Providence, RI], I have vowed to continue pursuing those passions and to make them a larger part of my life.
I work with a standard point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot A570 IS and hope to soon upgrade to a Canon Rebel DSLR, but I really believe that the camera does not make the shots -- it's the eye behind the lens. Most of my best pieces are inspired by those things I connect with most: the simple beauty of nature, cooking and baking and the Rhode Island coastline. Galleries with examples of my work can be found by selecting the respective tabs above.
In browsing the galleries, please note that the image quality represented here does not do the true depth of color and texture justice; something seems to get lost in translation during upload to the web.
